EMPORIA, Va. — One person was killed and a second person was flown to VCU Medical Center after an Amtrak train struck them in Emporia. The men were walking along the tracks when they were hit, according to law enforcement sources.
The incident happened at about 2 p.m. on the tracks near Main Street and Low Ground Road in Emporia.
The investigation into the fatal accident remains on-going.
