At Dominion's West Broad Street operations center, at least 30 bucket trucks are "ready to roll," according to Russel Bowman, a Dominion Operations Supervisor. Bowman said their resources are in place, so they are now focusing on their people.
"Trying to get a little rest so that our guys are well-rested to work through the night and work long hours," Bowman said.
Officials suggest getting an emergency supply kit ready to go right now.
The kit should include:
- One gallon of water per person per day for at least three days
- Non-perishable foods; three-day supply
- Battery-powered or hand-crank radios
- Flash lights, batteries
- A first aid kit
These four things will help you be best prepared for a winter storm.
If outages are a reality, Dominion said customers should call 1-866-DOM-HELP (1-866-366-4357) as soon as they happen. The quicker outages are reported, the quicker they can fix the problem.
