VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. -- One former governor Bob McDonnell's sons was found guilty Friday of driving under the influence and refusing a breathalyzer.

Robert Ryan McDonnell was arrested after an early morning traffic stop in December of 2014.

The judge sentenced McDonnell to six months in jail, but suspended the entire sentence. However, he was ordered to pay a $250 fine and complete an alcohol abuse treatment program.

His driver's license was also suspended for a year.

McDonnell has appealed the verdict.
