Fredericksburg police seek man wanted in car theft

FREDERICKSBURG, Va. — Fredericksburg police is asking for the public’s help to identify a man of interest in a motor vehicle theft in Fredericksburg.

Police said, on September 12 at around 9:20 p.m., the suspect in the photos was seen stealing a vehicle that was parked in front of the 7-11, located at 1240 Jefferson Davis Highway.

The vehicle stolen was a white 1996 Volkswagen Jetta, VA registration VDA1915, has a lowered suspension, ski rack on the roof, a loud exhaust and red mud flaps.

The suspect is a white male. In the surveillance photos he was wearing a white football jersey with the number five on the front, blue jeans, sunglasses on his head, and was carrying a backpack at the time of the incident.
