KING GEORGE COUNTY, Va. — A truck driver accused of entering a home and shooting another man in a bedroom later killed himself in his tractor-trailer truck, according to King George Sheriff’s Office investigators. Investigators were called to a home on Eisenhower Drive in the Presidential Lakes community of King George at about 8:07 Wednesday night. At the home, they found Larry Miller, 58, injured in the bedroom. Miller was shot in the chest, investigators said. He was taken to Mary Washington Hospital where he is expected to make a full recovery.
During the investigation, it was revealed John Walker, 49, of Farmville, entered the home looking for the homeowner — a woman. Walker left the home after the shooting. Deputies in Spotsylvania later found his truck parked off Route 2.
“As the Spotsylvania deputy approached the vehicle he heard a gunshot. Walker was located in the truck, deceased, from a self-inflicted gunshot wound,” King George Sheriff’s Office spokeswoman Sgt. Kecia Wharton said. “Spotsylvania detectives and forensic technicians responded to the scene of the suspect suicide.”
Walker and Miller were not acquainted, investigators said.
