RICHMOND, Va. -- A man was killed while walking across Commerce Road in South Richmond early Monday morning. The man was struck just before 1 a.m. in the 1800 block of Commerce, police said. He was taken to the hospital, where he later died.
The driver of the car who hit the man did stop and tried to help.
Police said it was too early to know if the driver would be charged as a result of the incident.
Police have not yet released the name of the man who was killed.
