HENRICO COUNTY, Va. — A Grand Jury has indicted Ramann L. Harris, 25, on a first-degree murder charge in the May 14 death of David Overton Agurs. Agurs, 27, was found shot outside a home on Art Avenue in Henrico’s East End, police said. Harris was previously charged with possession of a firearm by convicted felon related to this incident. In addition to the murder charge, the Grand Jury also indicted Harris on a malicious wounding charge and two counts of use of a firearm in the commission of a felony.
Harris is now the second person charged with murder in Agurs’ death. Police arrested 20-year-old Daisha Clora Woodruff on May 18. She was charged with second-degree murder. Early in the investigation, police said they believed the shooting was not a random act of violence.

“This is a bit unusual for this type of crime to happen here,” Henrico Police spokeswoman Capt. Linda Toney said after the shooting. “It is usually a quiet area. I can only imagine how the residents feel.”
