HENRICO COUNTY, Va. – Police are using bloodhounds to search for a 34-year-old man with autism who vanished in Lakeside Wednesday afternoon.

Henrico police said Robert Holmes Jr. was last seen around 1 p.m. Wednesday at his home in the 6000 block of Ellis Avenue.

“He left his residence on foot in an unknown direction” Henrico police posted on Facebook.

Holmes is described as a black male, around five feet seven inches tall and weighing 240 pounds. He was last seen wearing a lime green shirt, white shorts and black Nike shoes.

Police said Holmes is a "high functioning autistic adult" who is known to frequent area libraries and bookstores.
