HENRICO COUNTY, Va. -- Hermitage High School was placed on lock down Wednesday afternoon while Henrico Police searched for a suspect near the school, according to Henrico County School officials. Classes inside the West End school continued as normal during the lock down.
Police said that they responded to the 5700 block of Squire Ct for the report of an armed break-in, where the suspects fled on foot. Due to the proximity to Hermitage High School and initial information received, officers established a perimeter between the school and the area of the incident.
Officers on scene at the school coordinated with school staff and placed the school in lock down as a safety precaution.
