Man saves two dogs from burning New Kent home

NEW KENT COUNTY, Va. -- The investigation into what sparked an early morning house fire continued Monday in New Kent County. The fire that destroyed the Quinton-area home was first reported at about 2:50 a.m.

The homeowner, who initially called 911, was able to get his two dogs out of the house before flames consumed the home. When firefighters arrived at the home, flames were shooting through the roof. Fire crews from Henrico County and West Point were called in to help New Kent firefighters bring the house fire under control.

No injuries were reported as a result of the fire.
