RICHMOND, Va. -- Gunshots rang out in Northside just after 10 p.m. Tuesday.
Police later determined that the 17-year-old shot himself in the leg. He has been taken to VCU Medical for surgery. His injuries are not life-threatening.
Police had parts of the 3100 block of Enslow Avenue taped off as they investigate. The teen lived a few blocks northeast of Hotchkiss Park in the Highland Park part of the city.
