Mineral man killed, teen hurt in Louisa County crash

LOUISA COUNTY, Va. — Virginia State Police have identified the man killed in a crash Thursday night on Shannon Hill Road, near Route 33, in Louisa County as Corey S. Foster, 23, of Mineral.

Foster died at the scene, police said, a 17-year-old passenger was flown to UVA Medical Center with serious injuries.

“The trooper’s investigation revealed that a 1993 Honda Civic [driven by Foster] was traveling south on Route 605 (Shannon Hill Road), when it ran off the left side of the road and struck a tree,” Virginia State Police spokesman Sgt. Steve Vick wrote in an email.

Foster was not wearing a seat belt, investigators said.

No charges were expected to be filed in association with this crash.
