RICHMOND, Va. — The third of six puppies stolen at gunpoint has been recovered, according to a tweet from Richmond Police Lt. Daniel Minton. Minton indicated that along with the puppy, police recovered four illegal guns.
He did not indicate when, where or how the puppy was recovered. A Richmond Police spokesman was working to collect that information.
Last week, a man accused of robbing a couple of the puppies turned himself into police.
Tion L. Oliver, of Maryland Avenue, was charged with robbery and use of a firearm in the commission of a felony.
Oliver and a teenager responded to a Craigslist ad in which a couple was selling the puppies. During that meeting, police said, Oliver and the teen pulled a gun on the couple and took the puppies.
The first two puppies were recovered soon after robbery. The search for the remaining three puppies continues.
This is a developing story.
