Police identify woman killed in Richmond hotel room

RICHMOND, Va. -- The woman found shot and killed inside a Richmond hotel room Sunday night was from New York City.

"The Richmond Police Department has identified the victim in Sunday’s homicide as Eboniece M. Escobar, 22, of New York, New York," a Richmond Police Department spokeswoman wrote in an email. "Officers were called to the Clarion Hotel at 3207 N. Boulevard just before 10 p.m. on Sunday, Nov. 2 for a report of a disturbance. When officers arrived, they found the victim inside a hotel room suffering from a gunshot wound. She died at the scene."

Police said they had some strong leads in the case, but asked anyone with information to call Crime Stoppers at (804) 780-1000.
