NORFOLK -- One person was shot early Monday morning on Park Avenue near a Norfolk State University dorm. A man who identified himself as the shooting victim's brother told WTKR.com that the victim is excepted to be okay after he was shot in the shoulder.
A friend of the shooting victim told WVEC-TV that the victim was walking alone when he was jumped.
"He was walking by himself, somebody tried to rob him, take what he had on him and shot him," Norfolk State junior Kwesi Harrison told 13NewsNow.com.
The shooting happened at about 3:15 a.m.
Norfolk State is on Fall Break Monday and Tuesday. The university celebrated its Homecoming over the weekend.
