Posted

RICHMOND, Va. – The high Tuesday reached 101 degrees in Richmond, making it the hottest day in the River City in more than two years.  It also set a new record for September 2, breaking the old record of 100 set in 1980.

Even more impressive is the fact that the 101-degree high yesterday is the hottest for any day in September in 60 years!  The last time we reached 101 or higher was on September 7th, 1954.

In case you’re curious, the hottest September day ever recorded in Richmond was 103 degrees on September 7, 1954.
