RICHMOND, Va. (WTVR) – Police detained an elementary school student accused of calling in a bomb threat to J.L. Francis Elementary School Friday morning in Richmond.

The call was made to Richmond Police about 7:50 a.m., according to Richmond Public Schools. Students were taken to a different location since the threat was made before school opened for the day.

Police and the bomb squad swept Francis Elementary and found nothing suspicious. Students were allowed back into the school about 10 a.m.

The school is located on Snead Road, off Broad Rock Road, in South Richmond.
