RICHMOND, Va. (WTVR) –  A man was arrested and charged with the 2004 homicide of Russell D. Franklin.

Devion M. Gentry, 32, is charged with first-degree murder and the use of a firearm in the commission of a felony, according to the Hanover Sheriff’s Office. Earlier this year investigators said they had developed two new leads in the case.

“I’m exceptionally proud of our investigative team for their unwavering dedication to resolving this case, and I hope it will provide some level of closure for the family of Mr. Franklin,” Hanover Sheriff Colonel David R. Hines said.

Franklin was found shot to death in the driver’s seat of his 1995 light blue Cadillac along the 7400 block of Old Hickory Drive in August 2004.
