HENRICO COUNTY, Va. (WTVR) – A lock down at Highland Springs High School was lifted about 3:45 Wednesday afternoon after a gun was discovered in the parking lot. Two students are being questioned as a result of the incident.
“A Henrico Police School Resource Officer received information that a student may possibly have a weapon on school property,” Henrico Police spokeswoman Lt. Linda Toney wrote in an email. “Officers located a loaded handgun in a vehicle parked in the school parking lot.”
The lock down at the school S. Oak Avenue was ordered about 2:15 p.m.
“There are no reports of injuries and no reports that the gun was used in a threatening manner,” Lt. Toney said. “Two persons of interest, a 17-year-old male and an 18-year-old male, are being questioned by police. At this time, no charges have been placed.”
