Police search for person of interest after woman found stabbed to death

UPDATE: Prince George County police have identified the victim as 67 year old Lana Sears.

PRINCE GEORGE, Va. (WTVR) – A death investigation is underway after a woman was found stabbed to death in a Prince George County home Friday afternoon.

Prince George County police were called to a home in the Beechwood Manor subdivision in the 1300 block of Marl Bank around 3:54 p.m.

That's where a family member found an adult female dead inside the home.

Capt. Brian A. Kei said officers are trying to find 42-year-old Alana Renee Cole, who they are calling a person of interest in the case.

Cole is described as a white female around five feet five inches tall and weighing around 150 pounds.

As of 6:15 p.m., police were only letting people who live in the subdivision into the area. A CBS 6 News crew also spotted a K-9 unit on the scene.
