LOUISA COUNTY, Va. (WTVR) — State police are investigating a plane crash in Louisa County that occurred Friday evening.
According to Virginia State police, shortly after 7:30 a.m., a 1980 fixed wing single-engine Cessna U206G crashed yards away from a home located on Route 613, Poindexter Road near Route 649, Byrd Mill Road.
There were two people on board; they suffered minor injuries and were transported to UVA Medical Center.
Based on the preliminary and on-going investigation, police believe the plane crashed after a possible mechanical failure with the plane’s engine occurred.
The Federal Aviation Administration was called to the scene to conduct and continue the investigation into the cause of the crash.
The investigation is on-going.
