Man arrested for stabbing at Kroger

ALBEMARLE COUNTY, Va. (WTVR) – A Charlottesville man was arrested and charged with malicious wounding after police said he stabbed someone in the back outside the Kroger at Rio Hill Shopping Center. Lawrence Wayne Egnor, 46, is in jail being held without bond.

Albemarle County Police are investigating the Thursday night stabbing which took place in the grocery store’s parking lot.

“Two men began fighting and the victim was stabbed in the back,” Albemarle Police wrote in an email. “The victim and the suspect did know each other. The victim was taken to the University of Virginia Medical Center with non-life threatening injuries.”
