Stolen vehicle crashes, closes Henrico road

SANDSTON, Va. (WTVR) - An East End road was closed Wednesday morning as Henrico Police looked for the person who crashed a vehicle stolen from the 7-Eleven on Williamsburg Rd. near Laburnum Ave.

Police said that vehicle was stolen about 6:50 a.m.

Officers said they attempted to pull the vehicle over when it was spotted about a half mile away from the crime scene. The driver did not stop, according to police.

The short pursuit ended when the stolen vehicle crashed into another car near the intersection of Finlay St. and Allenshaw Dr.

Police are still looking for the suspect who they described as a black male, wearing dark clothing, carrying a red backpack and wearing only one shoe.

The other driver involved in the collision was taken to the hospital with minor injuries.

Finlay St. between Oakleys Ln. and Laburnum Ave. was closed while police investigated.
