RICHMOND, Va. (WTVR) - The child shot during a weekend house party is expected to make a full recovery. Friends of the young shooting victim's family told CBS 6 reporter Tracy Sears the child was still recovering in the hospital.
Police arrested 27-year-old Demond Brown in connection with Saturday night's shooting inside an apartment along the 1300 block of Coalter Street. Sources told CBS 6 the child was shot during a party inside the apartment.
"I got grandkids up here too. It bothers all of us," neighbor Contina Mattox said. "From my understanding you can't have parties here. So that was a negative right there. And then for a four-year old to get shot, I don't even understand why guns were there."
Brown is charged with a felony count of discharging a firearm within a building. Police called the shooting accidental.
