RICHMOND, Va. (WTVR) – Looking for an excuse to de-clutter  your home? How about the possibility you have an undiscovered treasure in your attic.

The Antiques Roadshow is coming to Richmond.

If you have never seen the show on PBS, it basically involves people bringing their stuff to be checked out by appraisers. Sometimes the items aren’t worth the gas money it took to drive them to the show, other times the items dug out of attics or crawl spaces are worth thousands of dollars.

The last time the Antiques Roadshow came to Richmond was 1998, so your old stuff must have gone up in value since then, right?

The Antiques Roadshow will be held at the Greater Richmond Convention Center on August 17. PBS will use footage shot that day to create three one-hour episodes.

It is free to get into the show, but there is expected to be a 6,000 ticket limit. Click here for information on how to get tickets.
