RICHMOND, Va. (WTVR) - This week on the sixth installment of “Battleground Virginia” we sit down with former Gov. Tim Kaine (D) and get his take on the presidential race as well as his own race for the Senate seat being vacated by retiring Sen. Jim Webb.
Kaine discusses the policy differences he sees with his opponent, former Sen. George Allen (R).
Kaine talks about how a former Democratic Party Committee Chair—which he was—can still be a “bipartisan” figure. He even names current Republican senators he says he could work with. He also talks about his stance on abortion and how as a Catholic he can support a woman’s right to choose.
After the break, we discuss how sequestration could impact Virginia’s robust defense industry.
Watch “Battleground Virginia” Sunday mornings at 8:00 a.m. on CBS 6.
