RICHMOND, Va. (WTVR) - One person was shot and killed Tuesday afternoon along East Brookland Park Blvd and Barton Ave., reported CBS 6 reporter Jon Burkett.
Richmond Police said they found the body of 27-year-old Antoine Leon Saunders, of the 6000 block of Derwent Road, lying in the sidewalk along Barton Avenue when they were called to the intersection around 2:20 p.m.
Neighbors told Burkett they heard at least seven shots.
Police are looking for suspects and said Tuesday evening that officers will step up patrols in the area in hopes of preventing more violence.
Richmond Police tweeted they are looking for black man wearing a grey sweatshirt and blue jeans. He was last seen heading north on Barton Ave., police wrote.

The shooting happened a block away from Richmond Community High School. Jon said it did not appear the victim had any connection to the school. He added a school bus driver may have witnessed the shooting.
Police tweeted detectives did not believe the shooting was a random crime.
