RICHMOND, Va. -- Thursday marks the start of the "We Care RVA Rebuild Project" aimed at helping small, women and minority-owned businesses in Central Virginia during the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic.
Altria and several other companies are partnering with four different non-profits - including the Metropolitan Business League, Local Initatives Support Corporation, Virginia Community Capital, and BLKRVA.
Back in June, the company pledged a $5 million investment to provide grants to businesses.
On Thursday, they handed over $675,000 dollars of the investment.
Applications for the grants open in September.
