RICHMOND, Va. -- Rain will increase Tuesday night, becoming moderate to heavy at times, as an Arctic cold front moves into Virginia.
The rain will change to snow from northwest to southeast as the colder air makes its way through the area. The changeover will occur in the Richmond area around 3:30 a.m., with wet snow continuing until around 8 a.m.
The snow will melt on contact initially, but could cover the grassy surfaces and result in a few slick spots on area roads for the morning commute.
Skies will rapidly clear Wednesday morning, with mostly sunny and cold conditions for the rest of the day.
