CHESTERFIELD COUNTY, Va. -- Keira D'Amato is a Midlothian mother who rediscovered her passion for competitive running and is now working to make the 2021 Olympic team.

CBS 6 first introduced views to D'Amato through our Beyond the Roster series.

D'Amato shared her Monday Motivation on CBS 6 News at 4:

"Hey Richmond, I'm Keira D'Amato and I'm here with your Monday motivation tip of the day.

I'm a Midlothian mom. I have two kids. I'm also a Realtor and I run a whole lot. I recently just ran a 5k on the St. Chris track and I ran 15:04, which was the 6th fastest time in the world this year.

It helps that there's not a lot of races going on. So that makes it a little bit easier to rank so high. But nonetheless, I'm still really proud of it.

I think it's a really cool accomplishment. And people ask me like, what's your inspiration? How do you get it done?
Well, I set a goal and I kick the door down.

So that's what I'm here to tell you. Nothing's too crazy. Dream big. Set a big goal, kick down the door and go after it. You don't need to climb mountain on the first day, just every step towards it counts and start working towards your goal.

And when you kick your door down and you figure that out and you hit it, contact me on Instagram and tell me all about it.
I want to hear about it. And actually door kicking videos would be very appreciative too. I'm sure I'd get a big kick out of seeing that.

So, Kiera D'Amato here signing off Richmond, hope to see you guys on the trails. Take your door down."
