PETERSBURG, Va. -- Two men who broke into a Petersburg church and barricaded themselves inside have been arrested.
Around 8:30 p.m., police responded to the Trinity Baptist Church in the 200 block of Halifax Street where two men had forced entry. The suspects barricaded themselves and damaged property inside the church.
Markel McLaughlin surrendered without incident, and a second man, Karim Jackson, was arrested after negotiations.
Both face burglary and destruction of property charges.
