Man found shot to death in a car at Southside McDonald's

RICHMOND, Va. -- A death investigation is underway after a man was found shot in a car in the parking lot of a Richmond McDonalds late Thursday night.

The shooting happened in the 6800 block of Midlothian Turnpike around 8:05 p.m., according to Richmond police.

"Once on scene, they found an adult male inside a vehicle with an apparent gunshot wound. He was pronounced dead at the scene. The Medical Examiner will determine the cause and manner of death," said police.

Major Crimes division's detectives are investigating this incident, and the Chief of Police, Command Staff, and Third Precinct leadership also responded to the scene.
