Police investigating after man found shot in Prince George roadway

PRINCE GEORGE, Va. – Police are investigating after a man was found shot in a roadway in Prince George County Tuesday night.

Officers were called to the 960 block of Birdsong Road to investigate a report of a man suffering from a gunshot wound at approximately 8:35 p.m.

When officers arrived at the scene, they discovered a man laying on the roadway, suffering from several gunshot wounds.

The male victim was conscious and coherent upon police arrival, according to police.

He was transported to Southside Regional Medical Center.

Investigators say the call for service was made by an uninvolved motorist traveling on Birdsong Rd.

Police are working to determine the chain of events leading up to the shooting and identification of involved suspect(s).
