Police identify pedestrian killed in Chesterfield crash

CHESTERFIELD COUNTY, Va. – Police have identified a pedestrian who was struck and killed crossing Jefferson Davis Highway in Chesterfield County.

Police said officers were called to the southbound lanes near the 6300 Block of Jefferson Davis Highway around 8:30 p.m. on Sunday, April 5.

Police said a Kia Optima was traveling south on Jefferson Davis Highway when it struck Ricardo Otero-Garcia, 53, who was attempting to cross the road.

Otero-Garcia, who lived on the same block of the crash, was transported to the hospital, where he died from his injuries.

The driver remained on scene.

Police continue their investigation into the crash.
