Richmond Police identify man killed in early morning shooting

RICHMOND, Va. -- Richmond Police have identified a man killed in a shooting early Friday morning as Rolando Maldonado-Ortega, a male in his 40s.

Officers responded to a call for trouble unknown in the 1700 block of Clarkson Road at approximately 12:06 a.m.

When officers arrived at the scene, they found Maldonado-Ortega suffering from a gunshot wound. He was transported to the hospital where he later died.

Police have not released any information on a suspect or motive at this time.
