Police: Driver carjacked outside of St. Mary's hospital

HENRICO COUNTY, Va. -- Police arrested one man accused in a carjacking outside St. Mary's hospital in Henrico County.

Police were called to the 5800 block of Bremo Road at about 1:19 p.m. Tuesday.

"In this incident, the victim was standing at his vehicle when he was approached by a male. The male engaged in conversation and then produced a handgun and demanded the victim’s Honda truck," Henrico Police spokesperson Lt. Matt Pecka wrote in an email. "The victim got away safely without injury and called 9-1-1."

Police were able to quickly locate the stolen truck and arrest the driver.

Resheed Richie Williams, 29, was arrested and charged with carjacking, use of a firearm in the commission of a felony, and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.

He was booked at Henrico County Sheriff’s Office without bond.
