STAFFORD COUNTY, Va. -- A man was killed before sunrise walking on Interstate 95 in Stafford County, according to Virginia State Police. Investigators are now looking for the driver who did not stop after striking the man.
"A pedestrian was walking in HOV/Express Lanes on I-95 when he was struck by an unknown vehicle. State police are still working to determine how the man gained access to the interstate," a Virginia State Police spokesperson said about the incident which was reported at about 4 a.m. at the 144 mile-marker. "The pedestrian died at the scene. His identity is being withheld pending next of kin notification."
The man, according to police, was wearing dark clothing.
