SPOTSYLVANIA COUNTY, Va. -- Authorities are asking for the public's help to find a man wanted in a shooting that left a man wounded at an apartment complex in Spotsylvania County earlier this week.
Marshall Lynn Albritton Jr. of Stafford County is wanted for the shooting of a 30 year-old Spotsylvania man, according to the Spotsylvania County Sheriff's Office.
He has been charged with malicious wounding, use of a firearm in the commission of a felony and possession of a firearm by a violent felon.
On Tuesday, around 10:15 p.m. deputies responded to the Salem Run Apartment Complex on Acree Avenue for a report of a shooting. When deputies arrived, witnesses said there had been an altercation between two men.
Detective J. Basil identified Albritton as the shooter after several interviews with witnesses.
“Deputies were able to locate a shell casing as well as a blood trail, however no victim or suspect. Moments later, a gunshot victim arrived at a local hospital," said a sheriff spokesperson. "Upon interviewing the victim who sustained a gunshot to the bicep, told detectives he and the suspect got into a verbal altercation outside in the parking lot. The suspect was known to the victim’s associates who were with him."
