Police identify man killed walking on I-95 in Richmond

RICHMOND, Va. -- Virginia State Police has identified the man hit and killed while walking on Interstate 95 in Richmond early Friday morning.

Police identified the pedestrian as 22-year-old Muhammad Khan of Falls Church.

"A 2005 Volvo S80 traveling north struck a pedestrian in the center lane at the mile marker," a Richmond Police sergeant wrote in an email. "The pedestrian succumbed to his injuries on scene. The driver, a 35-year-old male, was wearing a seatbelt and did not report injury."

Speed was not being considered a factor in the crash, according to police.

The crash was reported at 12:27 a.m. Friday.
