RICHMOND, Va. -- GRTC announced their buses will be operating on snow routes Friday due to the inclement weather across the region.
This means the buses will only be making stops at signs that have a snowflake icon on them.
Buses display an alert message on the electronic exterior signs, saying “SNOW ROUTES IN EFFECT” to notify customers that buses are on snow routes.
Officials said customers should expect some delays and detours in their commutes via GRTC.
GRTC Pulse may provide curbside-only service near stations, including across from median stations, dependent upon road conditions.
CARE and CARE On-Demand customers may need to meet the vehicle at a spot close to the pickup/drop off location if the vehicle cannot safely maneuver down the street, officials said. Door-to-door service will not be performed if the sidewalk and walkway have not been cleared.
GRTC said they are carefully monitoring road conditions and may make changes as needed.
