RICHMOND, Va. -- Even in the off season, the Richmond Flying Squirrels are continuing to bring the community to the Diamond. They announced that they're bringing back their "Movies in the Outfield" series this month with a special fireworks show.

The Squirrels started the socially-distant movie night events over the summer as an opportunity to open the gates and have people come out.

"The Sandlot" will be shown on the stadium's video board followed by fireworks on Saturday, October 17.

Gates will open at 6:35 p.m. and the movie will start at 7:35 p.m.

Guests are encouraged to bring blankets or pillows to sit on the field but chairs are not permitted. To encourage social distancing, 10'x10' spaces will be available on the field for seating up to four people or 10’x20’ spaces for up to eight people.

For more information on upcoming showings and to get your ticket visit the Flying Squirrels website.
