KING AND QUEEN COUNTY, Va. -- A 66-year-old man was killed Tuesday morning when he drove head-on into a tractor trailer on the the Lord Delaware Bridge in King and Queen County.
Police have not yet released the deceased man's name.
"A 2002 Ford Ranger, driven by a 66-year-old male, was traveling westbound Route 33 in the far right lane when he veered across all lanes of travel striking a 2015 Mack tractor trailer heading eastbound head on," a Virginia State Police spokesperson said about the preliminary investigation into the crash.
The Ford Ranger driver died at the scene, according to police. The tractor trailer driver was not hurt. Both drivers were wearing their seat belts.
The crash, which was reported at about 8:42 a.m., remains under investigation.
