CHESTERFIELD COUNTY, Va. β€” A woman sustained a graze wound on her neck in Chesterfield on Tuesday evening, according to police.

Officials responded to the 12700 block of Deep Well Road just after 6 p.m. where they found a woman with a "graze type wound" on her neck. Witnesses told police they had heard gunshots in the area. The initial investigation found the wound may have been caused by a stray bullet, though officers searched the area and did not find evidence of a shooting.

The victim was taken to the hospital with a non-life-threatening injury.

This incident is isolated and there is no ongoing threat to the public, officials said.
