PRINCE EDWARD COUNTY, Va. – Another Virginia school district has decided to cancel classes due to the spread of the flu.

Prince Edward County Public Schools announced they will close on Friday, February 7.

“This additional intermediate measure is being taken to allow our custodial staff time to do another deep cleaning of the entire campus,” school officials said in a statement.

Officials say they will continue to monitor the health and well-being of students and staff.

Their announcement comes one day after King William County Public Schools announced all schools would be closed Thursday, Feb. 6 and Friday, Feb. 7 due to a high number of confirmed and suspected flu cases.
