CHESTERFIELD COUNTY, Va. -- Two men have been arrested after an argument led a shooting in Chesterfield County early Saturday morning.
Officers responded to a a reported assault with a deadly weapon at a residence in the 4100 block of Lamplighter Court at about 1:50 a.m.
When officers arrived at the scene, they found an injured man, identified as 29-year-old Timothy A. Drewry II, in the residence.
A second injured man, 27-year-old Dean A. Rumph, was found outside the apartment.
"The investigation indicates that both men, who are known to each other, were at the apartment when an argument began and Rumph was asked to leave. Rumph initially left, but soon returned, reentered the apartment and struck Drewry in the head with a handgun," said a police spokesperson. "Drewry then fired a handgun at Rumph, striking him in the hand. At some point during the incident, Rumph fired his gun into the air."
Both men were arrested and transported to area hospitals with non-life threatening injuries.
Rumph has been charged with malicious wounding, breaking and entering, use of a firearm in the commission of a felony and discharging a firearm in a public place.
Drewry was charged with reckless handling of a firearm.
