PETERSBURG, Va. -- National Nurses Week continues and with the coronavirus pandemic, these frontline workers deserve encouragement now more than ever. As a way to say thank you, senior reporter Wayne Covil surprised a group of nurses at Southside Regional Medical Center in this week's CBS 6 Gives.
Covil arrived with a surprise lunch from the Ettrick Deli.
“We know you have a tough task every day regardless of a pandemic,” Covil said. “Remember that people really do care and appreciate what you guys are doing. So on behalf of CBS 6, we say thank you and congratulations on your Nurse Appreciation Week. No one deserves it more right now than you guys.”
