HENRICO COUNTY, Va. -- A Henrico woman in her 20s has tested positive for coronavirus COVID-19.

Dr. Danny Avula, the director for the Richmond and Henrico Health Districts, said the patient went to a trip to North Carolina about a week ago, came back, and developed symptoms.

Avula called this an example of "community spread" coronavirus.

The patient, he said, has self-isolated at home and was recovering.

Officials are trying to track down any contacts this person may have had, but Avula said the patient's circle of contacts appears to have been small.

Earlier Monday, Virginia health officials indicated there were 51 confirmed cases of coronavirus in Virginia.

The Henrico case was not included in that count.
