Bon Secours suspends patient bills related to COVID-19 testing and treatments

RICHMOND, Va. -- Bon Secours announced Thursday they have suspended all patient statements and billing related to the testing and treatment of COVID-19.

“This removes any financial barriers to accessing care and treatment, which is part of our ongoing commitment to care for all people in need, with high-quality care, regardless of their ability to pay,” said a company spokesperson.

The company also announced there would be no upfront payments required at the time of service for patients receiving treatment related to COVID-19.

Bon Secours says they will bill insurance companies but will suspend patient statements until details are finalized with the companies, lab partners, state and federal governments.

Bon Secours facilities in the Richmond area include; Bon Secours Memorial Regional Medical Center in Mechanicsville, Bon Secours Richmond Community Hospital, Bon Secours St. Francis Medical Center in Midlothian, Bon Secours St. Mary’s Hospital, Southside Regional Medical Center in Petersburg.
