Man arrested in Arizona for 2016 Richmond homicide

RICHMOND, Va. -- A man has been arrested in Arizona in connection to a 2016 homicide in Richmond.

Darnell D. Lee Jr., 34, formerly of Richmond, was arrested yesterday in Buckeye, AZ and charged with murder and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.

Lee Jr.’s girlfriend, Amanda L. Miller, 30, was also arrested. She has been charged with accessory for assisting the offender with hiding out for over three years.

Around 4:12 p.m. on August 23, 2016, officers were called to the 5000 block of Snead Road for a report of shots fired and a person down. They arrived to find Brian M. King, 24, of the 4000 block of Mallard Creek Circle in Chesterfield County, suffering from an apparent gunshot wound in a courtyard at the apartment complex. He was transported to a local hospital where he later died from his injuries

Lee has been wanted by Richmond Police since 2016.
