CHESTERFIELD COUNTY, Va. -- Police have identified the man killed when his motorcycle struck the back of a tractor trailer near a Jefferson Davis Highway intersection Monday afternoon.
The driver of the motorcycle has been identified as 35-year-old Javon Woodson of the 5600 block of Handel Court.
Police said around 2:30 p.m., Woodson was traveling north on Jefferson Davis Highway when it struck the back of a tractor trailer that was turning left from the southbound lanes of Jefferson Davis Highway onto Station Road.
The motorcyclist was left pinned under the bike, according to witnesses.
Woodson was transported to a local hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries.
Police continue their investigation into the crash.
